Calming Dog Bed

I waited for weeks to assemble this as I feared it would be tricky. When I finally got to it, the entire construction process took about 15 minutes. It was surprisingly easy to construct the 4 piece top and bottom frames (2 parts each) with the 8 side bars. I got confused a few times as to which was which but the pets are well marked with stickers saying “top 1,” “ top 2,” “bottom 1,” etc. The instruction booklet did not have perfect English but got the point across. It was easy to learn how to collapse the frame, which is necessary to fit it into the cover during assembly. I had a hard time getting the corners to line up, and thought I broke something while positioning it, but alas it all worked out! When finished I snapped the 4 hooks to the poles to hold it in place. I don’t like how the frame is exposed and there is the clip on a cord for leash attachment. I feel like even my older dog will be tempted to chew this. All said, the crate is well designed, well made, lightweight and moderately sturdy which is what I desired. I have a heavy, top brand large crate that I bring to agility trials when the dog will be left alone unattended for periods of time. That crate is horribly heavy to carry though. I wanted a lighter, smaller crate to bring to class when the dog is crated but I’m right there. This is perfect for that. The zippered sides and pouch mimic the high end crate. This is nowhere near as sturdy, and I wouldn’t use it for containment if I wasn’t there. However, I have a smaller dog who is afraid of metal crates, and I wanted to use this to train her to go in a crate. I left all the sides unzipped, put a comfy piece of foam and fuzzy blanket inside, and threw treats in. She went right in, whereas with the metal crates she won’t even try. The quilted pad that comes with this is small and very thin. It doesn’t cover the edges where the frame shows inside, so adding a pad/blanket helps. This crate is very good for training, as all the sides and top can be left open which helps with anxiety about feeling trapped. I am leaving it next to the dog beds to see if someone will choose to sleep in it unzipped to help with the training of our littler dog. I feel it’s important to have crates for the dogs, and have them crate trained, in case of emergencies. I’m not sure it’s that much less to buy this brand than a similarly sized top brand name folding crate, but this is definitely well made, and lighter, for the price. It’s a very good size for my 30 pound dog but would be a bit small for my 45 pound dog for longer times, though fine for agility class. I like that the whole cover could easily be removed for washing!

I purchased this for my 70lbs Classic American Bully breed. The size was perfect for him. He’s crate trained so he uses it daily and we travel with it. It’s easy to break down, also light in weight. I needed something like this since we’re sometimes unable to take him with us to the places we go so he has to spend night at grandmas. The material is on the bottom of the crate is still intact. My dog is a scratcher. I can see the scratch marks he leaves, and there are no tears in the material. Price and quality of the product is definitely worth it.

Was so afraid that my puppy would dig through the fabric the first week Then I realized he was not even making scratch marks on it as hard as he tried But he did get to the zippers and chewed it off when the crate was unzipped ( that’s the only downside)

After this crate I ended up buying a bed and toys from Zoomsterz too.
